Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of MedBrief, a local-first health-information organization application provided by PrismMind.
Effective July 16, 2026
1. Acceptance and eligibility
By installing or using MedBrief, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to accept these terms. Adults may use MedBrief to organize information for themselves or people for whom they have appropriate authority.
2. The MedBrief service
MedBrief helps you organize health documents and notes, extract information from supported files, ask questions about information you provide, export content, and optionally back up app data. Most records are stored locally on your device. Certain features require network services and third-party processors as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Not medical care or an emergency service
MedBrief is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis or treatment. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease, prescribe medication, replace medical records held by a provider, or replace advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Do not use MedBrief for emergencies. Contact local emergency services if you believe anyone may be in danger.
You are responsible for verifying records, extracted text, summaries, translations, and AI-generated responses against original documents and qualified professional advice before making health decisions.
4. AI features
AI recognition and Ask features are activated by you and can produce incomplete, outdated, misleading, or incorrect results. Responses may vary between requests or model providers. Do not rely on AI output as the sole basis for medical, medication, insurance, legal, or other high-impact decisions.
To provide these features, necessary request content is processed through PrismMind's Cloudflare-hosted backend, OpenRouter, and a selected model provider. Provider selection may change. Additional details are in the Privacy Policy.
5. Your content and responsibilities
You retain your rights in content you enter or upload. You give PrismMind and its processors a limited permission to process that content only as needed to provide, secure, and support the features you request.
You must have the right, permission, or other lawful basis to add another person's information. Do not upload content that is illegal, infringes rights, contains malware, or is unnecessary for the task. You are responsible for your device, credentials, backups, and the accuracy of information you choose to keep or share.
6. Acceptable use
You may not misuse the service, bypass access or usage limits, probe or disrupt its security, automate abusive traffic, reverse engineer protected portions except where law permits it, impersonate another person, or use MedBrief to violate law or another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights.
7. Google Drive backup
Google Drive backup is optional and requires your authorization. You are responsible for maintaining access to your Google account and for checking that important data has been backed up or restored as expected. Disconnecting Drive does not automatically delete an existing backup. Google services are also governed by Google's applicable terms.
8. Subscriptions, renewal, cancellation, and refunds
Paid plans are purchased through Google Play and managed with Google Play Billing and RevenueCat. Prices, billing periods, trials, taxes, and included limits are shown before purchase. Unless the purchase screen says otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.
You can manage or cancel a subscription through your Google Play account. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period, subject to Google Play rules and applicable law. Refunds are handled under Google Play's policies and any mandatory local consumer rights. Deleting MedBrief does not itself cancel a subscription.
9. Availability and changes
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, models, quotas, or integrations to maintain or improve the service. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, permanent compatibility with a particular provider, or error-free storage, extraction, backup, or AI output.
10. PrismMind property
MedBrief, its software, design, branding, and service content—excluding your content and third-party materials—are owned by PrismMind or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. These terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use MedBrief for its intended purpose.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, MedBrief is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded. PrismMind is not responsible for decisions made from unverified app or AI output, loss caused by failure to maintain backups, third-party services outside our control, or indirect or consequential losses.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
12. Termination
You may stop using MedBrief at any time. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security, legal requirements, non-payment, or a serious violation of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination remain effective.
13. Changes and contact
We may revise these terms as the service or law changes. Revised terms will be posted here with a new effective date, and material changes may also be communicated in the app when appropriate. Continued use after the revised terms take effect means you accept them where permitted by law.
